Join Lynne and the DSO for a week of patriotic concerts at the beautiful Greenfield Village from July 2-5. Sit on the lawn, have a picnic with friends and family, and enjoy the 16th Annual Salute to America.  This concert will feature American symphonic music and marches, and will conclude with the big finale: Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, accompanied by cannons and fireworks.

Note that the Greenfield Village grounds open at 6:00pm. Activities and events will happen prior to the 8:30pm concert. I’d recommend you get there early to enjoy the ambiance of Greenfield Village, get a nice seat on the lawn, and enjoy the prelude concert and events!

Join Lynne and Mark Flegg as they perform with the Flint Symphony Orchestra on July 18th. This fun free concert will feature Flash Cadillac, the iconic ’50s and ’60s rock-n-roll band.

Flash Cadillac is a band you might remember from their appearances on American Bandstand and Happy Days. They also appeared as “Herbie and the Heartbeats” in the classic film American Graffiti and performed “Suzie Q” in Apocalypse Now. Their website, http://www.flashcadillac.com/, has many fascinating stories about their experiences on film and TV.

The concert will be held outside at the Flint Cultural Center, behind the Sloan Museum. In the event of rain, the concert will move inside to Whiting Auditorium.

For the second time, Lynne will perform with the orchestra backing up the official tour band of Led Zeppelin to present The Music of Led Zeppelin: A Rock Symphony. This concert will be held at DTE Energy Music Theater (or, as all of us still call it, Pine Knob).

Tickets are $32.50 for pavillion and $10 for lawn seats, and can be purchased from the Palace Sports & Entertainment website.

Gretchko Elementary School in West Bloomfield holds a fun concert every spring, where First Grade students perform a musical created just for them. This year’s musical is based on the Brothers Grimm tale Stone Soup.

Lynne will join the orchestra to play many of her favorite opera arias from Puccini’s Turandot, as well as music from Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite. There will be three performances in the daytime for classes, and then two evening performances for the general public. For more information, contact Gretchko Elementary school.

The Adat Shalom Synagogue in Farmington Hills will present a concert featuring choirs, vocal soloists and the Michigan Sinfonietta orchestra. Lynne will perform on both oboe and English horn on this concert.

The concert will feature a variety of music, from opera to musicals to traditional Jewish songs.

Cantor Frank Lanzkron-Tamarazo and Soprano Lisa Lanzkron-Tamarazo will sing music of Gershwin, Weill, Ravel, and others. 

The Zamir Chorale, the Adat Shalom Choir, and the Adat Shalom Ruach Youth Choir will each present several selections at this concert, celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the independence of Israel.
